What a Roofing Square Means
Roofers price by the square — one square is 100 square feet of roof surface. It is not the same as your home’s floor area, because roof pitch adds surface. A 2,000 sq ft single-story home with a moderate pitch usually works out to somewhere around 22 to 26 squares once the overhangs and pitch are measured.

We remove the old shingles down to the wood rather than laying new over old. Shingling over an existing layer traps heat, hides rotted decking, shortens the life of the new roof, and voids most manufacturer warranties. It is cheaper on the quote and more expensive over time.
Decking Inspection and Repair
Once the old roof is off we walk the entire deck. Soft or rotted sheathing gets replaced before anything goes back down. We show you what we found and price it per sheet — you will never get a vague “wood repair” line on the invoice.
Ice and Water Shield Where It Matters
